POLI-UPE offers a wide range of courses for Undergraduate Students:



Please note that all courses are taught in Portuguese so we highly recommend having a good level (minimum B1) of the language before joining our university. Portuguese classes are also offered to foreign students before and during the semester.


The admission to undergraduate courses can occur in two ways:


  1. By entry exam; or

  2. For internal and external transfers (See university policy).




Civil Engineering


This course enables you to perform a wide range of activities: project companies, industrial engineering contractors, construction companies, contractors, direct and indirect public bodies, foundations and institutions of education and research.

Computer Engineering


The course enables professionals to specify, develop, adapt, industrialize and update computer systems, in areas such as telecommunication, computer architecture, digital systems and more areas related to software development, as well as complete integration of physical and logical resources needed by an organization.


The student will learn about:


  • Plan computational systems or adapt existing ones

  • Study the technical feasibility and costs of the project, detailing them and doing the follow-up of all its stages of production

  • You can also participate in the elaboration of industrial automation projects, using new programming techniques

  • Modeling and simulation of systems that ensure the efficient use of computer resources

  • Contribute, using his deep expertise in ICT, for an information society fully (i.e. more fair, inclusive and democratic).
